दिनेश टिफिनको समयमा विद्यालयमा भलिबल खेलेर घर आए । उनीसँगै टिफिनमा घर आएका भानदेव भट्ट र लिलाघर भट्टले उनलाई खोचलेक बजारमा देखे । खोचलेक बजार उनीहरुले पढने सनातन धर्म माविबाट झण्डै ५/७ मिनेटको पैदल दुरीमा पर्छ ।

भानदेब र लिलाधर कपाल काटन सैलुन छिरे । तर दिनेश त्यहाँबाट भागरथीको भन्दा चार/पाँच मिनेट पछाडि घरतिर हिँडे । उनले यसअघि आफूले बाटोमा कसैलाई पनि नदेखेको, विद्यालयबाट पनि पुरै कक्षा पढेर आएको जस्ता झुटो कुराले उनीमाथि गहिरो अनुसन्धान थालेको थियो।
‘दिनेशले विद्यालयबाट हिँडेको समय १:४५ बजे हो । भागरथी र तीनैजनाको १:५० मा खोचलेकमा भेटभयो । त्यसपछि घटनास्थल पुग्ने समय भनेको झण्डै ४० मिनेट अथवा २:३० हो । तर दिनेश ३:२५ सम्म घटनास्थल नजिकै छन् । उनले, घरमा पुरै पिरियड पढेर आएको भनेपनि पत्याउन नसकिने देखिन्छ,’ प्रहरी स्रोत भन्छ,’ तर उनले टिफिनमा कक्षा छोडेपछि र घर ढिलो पुगेको पत्ता लागेपछि अनुसन्धान बढी केन्द्रित पारिएको थियो।’
प्रहरीले दिनेशलाई ३ :२५ मा घटनास्थल नजिकैको लवलेकको नवनिर्मित मैदान नजिक देखेको प्रत्यक्षदर्शीले बताएका छन्। ‘प्रत्यक्षदर्शीका आधारमा अनुसन्धान अझ सहज भएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।

भागरथीको शव उठाएको दिन अथवा घटनास्थलमा धनगढीबाट तालिम प्राप्त कुकुर पुगेको दिन दिनेश त्यहाँ गएनन् । ‘उनको ट्राभल हिस्ट्री हेर्दा उनी तालिम प्राप्त कुकुर आएको दिन गोठालो गएका रहेछन्,’ एक प्रहरी अधिकृतले भने ।
भागरथीकी आमाले भागरथी आइन र ? भनि सोध्दा दिनेशले नदेखेको बताएका थिए । ‘भागरथीको खोजी गर्दा, फोन गर्दा उनी डराएर छटपटिए झैं हुन्थे, ‘ती प्रहरी अधिकृतले भने । तर मंगलबारको बेलुकी उनले साविति बयानमा आफूले भागरथीको हत्या गरेको स्वीकार गरेका छन् ।

म मध्यान्तरमा स्कुलमा (सनातन धर्म मावि) भलिबल खेलेर घर आए । त्यसपछि खोचलेकमा मेरो भागरथीसहितका अरु तीनजना आफ्नै गाउँका युवाहरुसँग भेट भयो । उनीहरु कपाल काट्न थाले । म त्यहाँबाट घरतिर हिँडे । मैले सिल्ल भन्ने स्थानमा भागरथीलाई भेटे र म फटाफट ती भन्दा अगाडि घरतिर लागे ।
घटनास्थल भएको स्थानमा म भागरथी भन्दा अगाडी नै पुगिसकेको थिए । केही बेरमा भागरथी आइन। उनले पुग्ने वित्तिकै मैले सडकबाट धक्का दिएर सानो खोल्सोमा (जहाँ शव भेटिएको थियो) लडाए । उ लडी र घाइते भइ । अनी मैले घाँटी थिचेर मारिदिए । त्यसपछि म घर हिँडे ।
