भद्रपुर २५ कार्तिक । तराइ मेधशमा श्रद्धा र नियम निष्ठापूर्वक मनाइएको छठ पर्वमा विहीवार उदाउँदो सूर्यलाई पूजा अर्चना गर्दै अर्घ्य दिएर यसवर्षको छठलाई विदा गरिएको छ। सोमवारदेखि विधिवत रुपमा लौकाको तरकारी र चनाको दालको शुध्द खाना तयार गरी नहाय-खायबाट शुरु भएको छठको मुख्य दिन दिन बुधबार साँझ कठोर ब्रतका साथ अस्ताउँदो सूर्यलाई पूजा आराधना गर्दै अर्घ्य चढाइएको थियो।
तराई मधेस र काठमाडौं उपत्यकामा समेत अत्यन्तै निष्ठापूर्वक मनाइने चार दिवसीय छठमा सूर्यलाई अर्घ्य दिने ब्रतालुले कम्तीमा ३६ घण्टा ब्रत बस्ने परम्परा छ, जसमा खरनामा दिनभरि ब्रत बसेपछि राति सख्खर मिसाएर बनाइएको खीर खाने र अर्को दिन निराहार ब्रत गरी साँझ सूर्यलाई अर्घ्य दिने गरिन्छ।
साँझ अर्घ्य दिने ब्रतालुले पानी पनि नखाने परम्परा रहेको छ। भोलिपल्ट छठको अन्तिम दिन बिहान सूर्यलाई अर्घ्य दिई सकेपछि पारण गर्ने (ब्रत तोड्ने) गरिन्छ।
छठमा नियम निष्ठाको बढी ख्याल गरिएको हुनाले यसलाई कठोर पर्वको उपमा दिइएको छ। भगवान सूर्यदेवको उपासना गरिने छठमा व्रतालुले ब्रत संकल्प गरेको भाकल अनुसारको केरा, उखु, भण्टा, मुला, अदुवा, काँचो बेसार, दूध, माटोको हात्ती, ढकनी, चढाउने परम्परा रहेको छ।
यस्तै, सूर्यलाई दिइने अनिवार्य अर्घ्य तथा मिष्ठान्न सख्खर र गहुँको पिठोले बनाइएको परिकार ठकुवा, चामल र सख्खरले बनाइएको भुसुवालाई प्रसादको रूपमा खाने र बाँड्ने गरिन्छ।
