झापाको बिर्तामोडस्थित एक विद्यालयमा कक्षा ११मा अध्ययरत् दुई किशोरीले एक साताको अवधिमा आत्महत्या गरे ।
बिर्तामोडमा कोठा लिएरसँगै बस्ने साथीले के कारणले आत्महत्या गरिन् भन्ने खुल्न नसकेको बताइएको छ । उनीहरु एक जना ताप्लेजुङ र अर्की इलामकी किशोरी रहेको चारआलीकी संस्कृति रिजालले जानकारी दिइन् । झापासहित पूर्वका जिल्लामा पछिल्लो समय आत्महत्याको दर बढ्दै गएको प्रहरीको तथ्याङ्कले देखाएको छ । आत्महत्या रोक्न प्रहरीले समुदाय साझेदारी कार्यक्रम अन्तर्गत विभिन्न सचेतनामूलक कार्यक्रम गर्दै आएको छ । तर, आत्महत्या गर्नेको संख्यामा भने कुनै कमी आएको छैन् ।
विश्वमा प्रत्येक ४० सेकेण्डमा मान्छेले आत्महत्या गर्ने जनाइएको छ । नेपालमा आत्महत्याका प्रमुख कारणहरुमध्ये विभिन्न उपचार गर्दा पनि निको हुन नसकेका जीर्ण रोगले सताएका बिरामी, आफन्तको मृत्यु, बढ्दो एकल जीवन, वैदेशिक रोजगारका सामाजिक असर, प्रेममा धोका, लागूऔषध, परीक्षामा असफलता, जीवनमा निराशा, क्षणिक आवेग, दाइजो प्रथा तथा महिला हिंसा रहेको प्रहरी अनुसन्धानले देखाएको छ । समाजमा आत्महत्यालाई कायरताको रुपमा लिने गरेको पाइन्छ । आत्महत्या भनेको एउटा मनोरोग भएको र यसलाई नियन्त्रण गर्न सकिने चिकित्सकहरुले बताएका छन् ।
आत्महत्या मान्छेले विभिन्न तरिकाले गर्ने गरेको पाइएको छ । नेपालको सन्दर्भमा मुख्यगरी डोरीमा झुन्डिएर, विष सेवन गरेर, ताल तथा गहिरो दहमा डुबेर, घरको छतबाट फाल हानेर, खोलामा हेलिएर, अग्लो भीरबाट हामफालेर, आगो लगाएर, करेन्ट लगाएर, आफैंले आफ्नो हातको रक्तनली काटेर आत्महत्या गरेको पाइन्छ । त्यसैगरी यौन हिंसाका शिकार भएका किशोर–किशोरीले आफूमाथि परेको समस्या अरुलाई भन्न र सुनाउन नसक्दा आत्महत्याको बाटो रोज्ने गरेको वीएण्डसी हस्पिटलकी मनोचिकित्सक डा. श्रद्धा भण्डारीले बताइन् ।
आवेगमा आएर गरिने आत्महत्या, डिप्रेसनका कारण गरिने आत्महत्या पछिल्लो समय बढ्दै गएको चिकित्सकहरुको भनाइ छ । समाजिक परिवेशका कारण पनि आत्महत्या गर्नेको संख्यामा वृद्धि भएको पाइएको छ । अन्तरजातीय विवाह, रितीरिवाज, दुव्र्यवहार तथा सामाजिक कुरीतिहरुले गर्दा पनि आत्महत्या गर्ने गरेको पाइएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । प्रेममा धोका, झुठा आरोप खेप्न नसकी, बेइज्जत भएको सहन नसक्दा र कुनै जघन्य अपराध गरे पश्चात् आत्मग्लानीले पनि आत्महत्याको बाटो रोजेको भेटिएको जनाइएको छ । लागूऔषध सेवनकर्ता र नियमित रुपमा रक्सी सेवन गर्ने व्यक्तिले पनि आत्महत्या गर्ने गरेको पाइएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ ।
झापामा वर्षेनि आत्महत्या दर बढ्दै गएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय झापाका अनुसार आर्थिक वर्ष २०७४/०७५ मा दुई सय ४७ जनाले आत्महत्या गरेका थिए । आर्थिक वर्ष २०७५/०७६ मा दुई सय ८८, आर्थिक वर्ष २०७६/०७७ मा दुई सय २३ जना र चालू आर्थिक वर्ष २०७७/०७८ को फागुन मसान्तसम्ममा एक सय ७० जनाले आत्महत्या गरिसकेका छन् । आत्महत्या गर्ने अधिकाशं युवावस्थाका महिला तथा पुरुष रहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय झापाका प्रहरी प्रवक्ता प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक राकेश थापाले जानकारी दिए ।
प्रहरीले आत्महत्या न्यूनीकरणका लागि विभिन्न सचेतनामूलक कार्यक्रम अघि बढाएको छ । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय झापाले लागूऔषध नियन्त्रण, आत्महत्या न्यूनीकरण र दुर्घटना न्यूनीकरणका लागि विभिन्न सचेतनामूलक कार्यक्रम गर्दै आएको प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक थापाले बताए । प्रहरीले सचेतनामूलक कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गरे पनि आत्महत्याको दर नघट्नु चिन्ताको विषय भएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । प्रहरीले किशोरावस्थामा रहेका आफ्ना छोराछोरीको निगरानी गर्न आग्रह गरेको छ । कुलतमा फस्नुभन्दा अघि नै उनीलाई सुधार गर्न सकिने प्रहरीको भनाइ छ ।
महिलाभन्दा पुरुष बढी
झापामा आत्महत्या गर्नेमा महिलाभन्दा पुरुषको संख्या बढी रहेको छ । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयका अनुसार आर्थिक २०७६/०७७ मा एकसय ३२ पुरुष र ९१ जना महिलाले आत्महत्या गरेका छन् । चालूआर्थिक वर्ष २०७७/०७८ को फागुनसम्ममा एक सय १२ पुरुष र ५८ जना महिलाले आत्महत्या गरेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ ।
चालू आर्थिक वर्षमा आत्महत्या गर्नेमध्ये ६६ प्रतिशत पुरुष रहेका छन् । आत्महत्या गर्नेमा १८–२५ वर्ष उमेर समूहका किशोर–किशोरी रहेको प्रहरी नायब उपरीक्षक थापाले जानकारी दिए । १८ वर्षमुनिका बालकालिका र ६० वर्षमाथिका वृद्धवृद्धाले समेत गरेको प्रहरी तथ्याङ्कमा उल्लेख गरिएको छ ।
