आजभन्दा दुई हजार २५ वर्षअघि डिसेम्बर २५ तारिखका दिन इजरायलको वेथलेहेममा येशु ख्रीष्टको जन्म भएको विश्वासका आधारमा यो दिनमा खुसियाली दिवस मनाउने गरिन्छ।
सो क्रममा भद्रपुर ८ स्थित यरूसेलम बिलिभर्स इष्टर्न चर्चले विभिन्न साङ्गीतिक प्रस्तुति सहित शुभकामना आदान प्रदान गरेर क्रिसमस डे मनाएको छ।
भद्रपुर नगरपालिकाका प्रमुख गणेश पोखरेलको प्रमुख आतिथ्य र चर्चका रेभ फादर जगत वाग्लेको अध्यक्षतामा धुमधामसँग क्रिसमस डे मनाइएको हो।
कार्यक्रममा प्रमुख अतिथि पोखरेल, ८ नम्बर वडाअध्यक्ष गौरव सुब्बा-मनोज, समाजका अग्रजहरू पूर्व डिएसपी.धनपति शिवाकोटी रेडक्रस भद्रपुरका सचिव केदार महत र रेडक्रस भद्रपुरका अध्यक्ष एवं संचारकर्मी गोपाल गिरीले शुभकामना मन्तव्य राख्नुभएको थियो। डिकन फादर समर वाग्लेले स्वागत मन्तव्य राखेको सो कार्यक्रमको सञ्चालन विक्रम वाग्लेले गर्नु भएको थियो।
विश्वका धेरै मानिसले मनाउने क्रिसमस डे नेपालमा भने विसं २०६३ पछि मनाउन थालिएको हो।
दिवसका अवसरमा विसं २०६३ देखि २०७४ सम्म सार्वजनिक बिदा दिइएको थियो । यस अवसरमा विसं २०७५ देखि २०७७ सम्म भने क्रिश्चियन धर्मावलम्बीलाई मात्र बिदा दिइएको थियो भने विसं २०७८ देखि यस अवसरमा फेरि सबैलाई सार्वजनिक बिदा दिन थालिएको छ। त्यस अनुसार आज सरकारले सार्वजनिक बिदा दिएको थियो।
हाल नेपालमा ३५ लाख क्रिश्चियन धर्मावलम्बी रहेको दाबी गरिएको छ । १५ हजारभन्दा बढी चर्च बनिसकेको पनि महासङ्घले बताउँदै आएको छ । नेपालमा क्रिश्चियनका १३ वटै सम्प्रदायका चर्च रहेको जनाइएको छ ।
भद्रपुरमा आजको कार्यक्रममा चर्चका ७ जना बृद्ध बृद्धालाई सम्मान गर्नुका साथै चर्चका बिबिध गतिबिधिमा सहयोग गर्ने ६ जनालाई पनि सम्मान गरिएको थियो ।
